Are you and your family looking for ideas or something different to do this year for an Easter Egg Hunt near the Phoenix and Tucson area? If so, Shamrock Farms (located in Stanfield, AZ) is a great choice, not to mention a unique experience. It’s about an hour away from downtown Phoenix, and an hour away from Tucson. Usually the Farm only offers tours during the week however, it also has a yearly Easter Egg Hunt tour that takes place during a weekend before Easter. This year, the tour is being held on March 19th and March 20th.
Last year, my husband and I took our son, who was almost 2 1/2 years old at the time, to the Easter Egg Hunt/tour. We figured he would love it, especially since his favorite book/song at the time was Old MacDonald Had a Farm (it’s still a go-to favorite in our household). We found the tour to be very educational. Be rest assured that this is a dairy farm. For example, we learned the difference between the regular milk you would find at a grocery store, and milk that comes from organic, grass fed, or free range dairy cows. My son really enjoyed participating in the Easter Egg Hunt, and also getting to help feed a calf at the end of the tour.
It was perfect for his age. When you first arrive to the Farm, you see a big huge red barn, and a tractor, adding to the experience.
There were several activities at the main entrance - games, crafts, face painting, animal balloons and characters dressed up as Roxie (the Shamrock Farms mascot) and the Easter Bunny. And once the tour concluded, we were given the choice of milk or chocolate milk
I would definitely recommend it! Their website doesn’t indicate if they are offering the games, crafts, face painting, and animal balloons this year, so if this is something you really want to experience, I’d call them with any questions to confirm whether they are offering all these activities. But, just like last year, you can get a free ice cream if you show them you liked their page on Facebook.
