Have you seen Frozen 2 yet? Are you wondering which are the best moments in Frozen 2? I had the opportunity to screen the movie when I walked the red carpet for the World Premiere and I’m breaking down the best moments in the film. Proceed with caution, though. This is the spoiler version so if you don’t want to know what happens in the movie, then now is the time to let it go and just walk away from this article and into the unknown. For those of you who have seen Frozen 2, though, see what I did here 🙂
7 Best Moments in Frozen 2 (the Spoiler Version)
After I’ve watched a movie, I like googling it to read more about it. So I’m hoping you are reading my article for the same reason. So here it goes – here’s my version of the best moments in Frozen 2!
Olaf’s Recap of Frozen 1
There is a scene in Frozen 2 where Olaf hysterically recaps the first film. For those of you who are familiar with the storyline, you’ll appreciate the references. For those of you who haven’t seen Frozen 1 yet, you’ll get the readers digest version. Have you ever seen Ant-man & the Wasp? If so, Olaf’s recap reminded me so much of Luis’ (played by Michael Pena) recap of the first Ant-Man movie. Anyway, Olaf’s recap was my favorite moment in the film!
Olaf and Samantha
Olaf is lost in the Enchanted Forest by himself and starts calling out for his friends and then randomly calls out for Samantha. Then Olaf realizes he doesn’t even know anyone named Samantha, lol! He gets a bit spooked, then calls out Samantha’s name again! This is one of the reasons why I love Olaf’s character – he’s silly but he also has profound sayings.
Kristoff’s 80s Love Ballad
I felt like I was reliving the 80s all over again! Except instead of Wham, I was seeing Kristoff belt out a love tune, with Sven as a backup singer. This whole scene was completely random but I loved every second of it. This also occurred at a time where the movie needed some laughs.
Young Anna and Elsa
The movie begins with Anna and Elsa as children, cuddling with their mom, listening to their father tell them a bedtime story. I started getting misty eyed knowing their parents’ fate. There’s a feeling of innocence in those scenes which will remind audience goers of their own childhood.
Elsa and the Water Horse
Elsa encounters a water horse under the water, which is a Nokk, a mystical water spirit. This is probably the most visually stunning scene in the movie. She ends up taming and riding the water horse over the ocean to her final destination where she will have to face herself – and the truth.
Kristoff, the Supportive Boyfriend
During the Frozen 2 press junket, Rachel Evan Wood described Kristoff as Prince Sincere, not Prince Charming. How many times have we seen a movie where the guy rescues the damsel in distress? That’s not the case in Frozen 2. During one of the scenes in the movie, Kristoff tells Anna “I’m here. What to you need?” I hope the guys watching the movie are paying attention to this! This is powerful.
The Ending
So I’m going to admit it. Elsa is my favorite character. At first, I was a bit stunned by the ending. But now that I’ve had time to process it, I couldn’t have thought of a better way to end the movie. Elsa leaves to pursue her own path in the Enchanted Forest and Anna becomes Queen of Arendelle. Anna always put other people’s needs before her very own. It was time for her to take the helm and guide the people of Arendelle. And Elsa is where she wants – and is meant – to be.
