If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ve probably noticed that we are fans of LEGOLAND and LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona. Last year we spent a weekend in the Phoenix area for the month of October and had a great time experiencing Brick or Treat at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona and Halloween Spooktacular at the SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium for the first time.
Brick or Treat
Brick or Treat occurs this year occurs on October 21, 22, 28, and 29, 2017. There are several special events, like trading minifgures for special Halloween minifigures, a scavenger hunt, create a Halloween mask out of LEGOS, a costume contest, and a LEGO pumpkin patch. And that doesn’t even include all the regular activities, like building a race car, watching a 4D movie, and experiencing the rides.
Halloween Activities at Brick or Treat
Last year, my son wanted to trade his minifigure right away. This is the one he traded it for:
From there, we went to the Factory Tour where he received a special Halloween brick.
The scavenger hunt takes place in MINILAND and I’m not kidding when I say that it’ll test your skills. My husband and I took turns trying to figure it out, and I’m still not sure if we got the right answer. It was a lot of fun, though, since it gave me an opportunity to spend more time in MINILAND and see all the different minifigures, especially the Halloween minifigures.
My son loves Merlin’s Apprentice ride, so he and my husband took flight. I thought it was appropriate, considering he was wearing his astronaut costume.
We added a pumpkin to the pumpkin patch. I like that this was a separate area, tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
It turns out that creating a pumpkin from LEGOS is hard! But fun 🙂 Ours looks more like a pumpkin spaceship, lol. My son was proud to add it to the rest of the pumpkins.
One of our favorite parts is the costume contest. The kids lined up, and they all looked really cute in their costumes. My son ended up winning (!), and he received a LEGO kit.
At that point, all he wanted to do was open the box and start building. But we still had more fun coming our way. From there, we left LEGOLAND Discovery Center and went across the hall to Sea Life Aquarium.
Halloween Spooktacular
My family and I love that the SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium is in the same mall as LEGOLAND Discovery Center. The Aquarium is also decorated during Halloween Spooktacular. There’s also a costume contest and fun activities like watching an underwater pumpkin carving contest!
The highlight for us was the underwater pumpkin carving contest!
I’m glad we had the opportunity to experience both Brick or Treat and Halloween Spooktacular. We had a great time, especially my son.
*I received tickets in exchange for sharing information about Brick or Treat and Halloween Spooktacular to my readers. As always, all opinions are my own.
