Is the Universal Studios Orlando VIP tour worth it? My family and I were able to experience the Universal Studios Orlando VIP Experience when we traveled to Florida and we all agreed that without a doubt, the Universal Studios Orlando VIP Tour is worth it! There are so benefits to booking the Universal Studios Orlando VIP tour, from a personal tour guide to skipping the lines to popular rides.

I’m all about saving money. I’m *that* person who thrives on Black Friday every year (yes, I have been that person first in line at department stores). But, I also know that sometimes, it’s just not worth it. Especially when it comes to keeping the peace when it comes to traveling. And there’s nothing enjoyable about waiting in a long line at a theme park with a child (or adult!!) who’s on overload, tired, and hungry.
Is the Universal Studios Orlando VIP tour worth it?
I’ve previously written about the benefits of staying on property and the benefits of the the express pass. However, if you want to maximize your family’s experience even more, I highly recommend the Universal Studios Orlando VIP tour.
This look says it all.
Would you rather have this?
Or be stuck in this?
My guess is you’d prefer to avoid the crowds, especially if you’re traveling with children. Heck, even it was just me, or me and my husband, I’d still prefer to avoid the crowds.
So why did we enjoy the tour so much? You can read more about it and the pricing by clicking on Universal’s website (you’ll still need to purchase general admission tickets to the parks) but the biggest draw is that (1) you and your family are provided with a tour guide for the day and (2) you get to skip the lines for rides.
The Benefits of a Personal Tour Guide
You have an option of taking a private tour where it’s just you and your family or a semi-private tour which consists of you, your family, and a couple of more families. The private tour is more expensive than the semi-private tour.
Ours was the semi-private group and consisted of a tour guide, and 2 other families besides us. So there was total of 12 of us, besides the tour guide. What I really liked is that we were matched up with families that had children around the same age as my son. That meant that the itinerary and rides chosen were tailored more for younger children and no one felt left out. Our guide was invaluable. He gave us behind-the-scenes information about the parks, took photos of our family (I’m usually not in the photo because I’m the one taking the photo), and watched our bags when we went on rides.
Skipping the Lines
This is another huge benefit of the VIP tour. We were able to quickly get on popular rides like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Harry Potter and the Escape at Gringotts.
Because of the VIP tour, we were able to literally skip the long lines and get on these rides in mere minutes. Skull Island: Reign of Kong, one of the newer ride at Islands of Adventure, had a wait time of over an hour. Some of the members in our group were able to experience it twice – in a 10 minute time span!
Other Benefits
The VIP tour also includes a continental breakfast, valet parking, and a discount in select stores in the park. There are different VIP tours available, so you’ll definitely want to check out this link to compare the VIP tours.
Even the planner in me enjoys when others do the planning for me!
