It’s hard to believe that Disneyland has been closed for almost a year due to the global pandemic. When I was there last year for the Disneyland Food and Wine Festival, I had no idea that we would soon be entering a stay-at-home order. While theme parks across the U.S., like Disney World and Universal Studios Florida, have since reopened with limited capacity and safety precautions, theme parks in California have been put on hold due to local restrictions. However, there is a silver lining amid the ongoing Disneyland closure. That’s because Disneyland Resort’s secondary theme park, Disney California Adventure (DCA), announced that it plans to reopen on March 18, 2021 for a limited, ticketed event called A Touch of Disney! Do you want to know how much tickets cost to attend A Touch of Disney and what is included in the price of admission? If so, keep reading to find out more about Disneyland’s latest plans to reopen.
A Touch of Disney 2021: What You Need to Know
Starting March 18, 2021, Disney’s California Adventure will only be accessible to those who purchased tickets to A Touch of Disney. The reopening of the park constitutes an event rather than a simple shopping and dining location. Guests will be able to enjoy the resort’s signature dishes and snacks and exclusive merchandise. Additionally, shopping experiences will be in-store while dining experiences will remain outdoors as they have been in Downtown Disney throughout the Disneyland closure. Rounding out the trifecta is going to be some form of entertainment. The only thing missing under the circumstances will be the attractions, but there is no telling how long it will be before all theme park operations are up and running.
A Touch of Disney Ticket Prices and Dates
Tickets to the event can be purchased online beginning March 4, 2021, and they will cost $75/person. The ticket price includes the following: admission to the event, parking (at the Mickey & Friends parking structure), unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos, and a $25 dining card valid towards the purchase of food and non-alcoholic drinks. It is worth it to note that in its news release, Disneyland Resort states that ticket prices are subject to change.
As for the dates, tickets will be available for select days from March 18 through April 5, 2021, Thursdays through Mondays from noon until 8 pm. After that, tickets will be released for dates on a rolling basis.
A Touch of Disney Food Event
Perhaps the biggest draw to this event are all the food options! Not only will guests be able to order popular snacks like churros and the infamous DOLE Whip, but they will also be able to purchase sandwiches like my personal favorite, the Monte Cristo Sandwich. Shopping, Photo Opportunities and Character Sightings at A Touch of Disney
I also enjoy shopping when it involves one of my favorite topics, Disney! I mean, I even wrote a guide for shopping at Toy Story Land at Disney World. 🙂 Shoppers won’t feel left out at A Touch of Disney since guests will be able to shop for Disney merchandise. There will also be photo opportunities although at the time of writing this article, there isn’t much information with regard to that. There will also likely be character sightings from Mickey Mouse and perhaps Joy and Sadness at Pixar Pier or Mater and Lightning McQueen in Cars Land.
Other Details
Beginning March 11, 2021, guests can make reservations at Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge. However, you’ll want to keep in mind that reservations don’t include admission to A Touch of Disney. Also, you’ll still need to purchase a ticket to A Touch of Disney if you want to dine at these locations.
Buena Vista Street is currently open as an extension to Downtown Disney. However, after March 14, 2021, it will be closed and it will reopen on March 18, 2021 as part of the A Touch of Disney event.
