Are you looking for a family friendly activity in Tucson, Arizona? I recently wrote about my family’s stay at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson on TravelingMom. Not only is it a family friendly resort in Tucson, but it’s also a great way place for families to connect with nature. We especially enjoyed the nature walk, which deserves an article of its own.
A Family Friendly Activity in Tucson: Nature Walk at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort
My family loves family friendly hikes and the nature walk at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort ranks up there as a family friendly activity in Tucson.
The nature walk begins with the koi pond. My son really enjoyed seeing it. In particular, he was amazed that the fish could swim from one side to the other since the hotel is actually situated above a portion of the koi pond.
A map is also located at the beginning of the nature walk. All the places of interest were clearly marked, easy to follow, and even included photographs.
My son saw the nature walk as an adventure and my husband and I were happy to oblige 🙂 Not only are the pathways well maintained, but there are also bridges and streams throughout the walk itself.
During our stay, the weather was very nice. However, it is nice to see that there are shaded areas once the heat arrives. I love the beauty of the desert landscape.
We were also able to see some wildlife, like the quail in the picture below!
We had a great time during the nature walk. Not only was the scenery beautiful, but it’s also educational. The pictures above don’t even include the waterfall, the butterfly garden, and the desert tortoise habitat!
*My family and I received a complimentary stay at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
