One of my favorite aspects about the holidays and Christmas specifically is the music. I’m glad that my son is following suit – he loves holiday songs like Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. If you’re looking for family friendly entertainment during the holidays, the Gaslight Music Hall’s Christmas Jamboree is a performance that shouldn’t be missed. My family and I were recently invited to a performance of the Christmas Jamboree in exchange for a review, but as always, all opinions are my own. Simply put, the performances were fantastic and this ranks up there as one of our favorites. Performers like Charlie Hall, Robert Shaw, the Manhattan Dolls, and the Gaslight Music Hall Band really did a great job. Not only do they sing holiday classics like Silent Night, but audience participation is encouraged. The Grinch and Santa also make appearances! Please keep reading for more information about the Christmas Jamboree as well as the opportunity to win tickets!
It’s difficult finding performances that both adults and younger children will enjoy. This is where the Gaslight Theatre and the Gaslight Music Hall in Oro Valley excel. Many of their performances are suitable for the whole family, especially the Christmas Jamboree. Adults will enjoy holiday classics like Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Baby It’s Cold Outside, and Feliz Navidad. Younger children will especially enjoy favorites like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.
While the adults in my family had a great time, my son also enjoyed the performance. The performers looked like they were having a great time on stage, and they encouraged audience participation, especially with younger children. At one point, one of the performers gave my son a high five to his delight. And as I mentioned above, the Grinch and Santa both make appearances! One of my son’s favorite movies is The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. So you can imagine how excited he was to see Charlie Hall dress up as the Grinch and perform The Grinch song 🙂
And then there’s Santa! Santa makes an appearance near the end of the performance and children are invited on stage to sing Jingle Bells and play instruments. Candy canes are also handed out to guests. My son was able to take a photo with Santa at the end of the performance, which makes for a more personalized experience.
Guests can also have their photo taken with the performers after the show is over. My son was happy to have his photo taken with Robert Shaw (who does an amazing impersonation of Elvis), the Manhattan Dolls, and Charlie Hall.
I’m glad my family had the opportunity to experience the Christmas Jamboree. It was a fun way to get into the holiday spirit. There are only a few more performances left and the last performance will be on December 20, 2017.
