My Frozen 2 Red Carpet Experience
I recently attended the trip of a lifetime. A few months ago, I applied to attend The Geekly Retreat, which was geared towards women in the entertainment field. I was beyond excited to find out that I was one of the women selected to attend the retreat. I was even more excited when I found out that we would be able to walk the red carpet for the Frozen 2 World Premiere as well as attend the after party! This Tucson mom was heading to Hollywood and about to experience her very own fairytale.
My Frozen 2 Red Carpet Experience Dress, Shoes and Accessories
After I picked myself up from the floor in shock that I was actually going to walk the red carpet, I realized that I needed to decide on a dress and accessories. Amazon Prime might as well be my best friend, so I did what I would do in any other situation – I began my search on Amazon. It turns out that you really can buy anything and everything from Amazon, including red carpet dresses 🙂 I ended up purchasing this evening dress (affiliate link) and paired it with this clutch purse (affiliate link). I also went to my local DSW store and bought these silver heels. The final touch? My favorite diamond earrings and one of my favorite shrugs. Once I decided on the dress and accessories, it was time to turn my attention to my hair and makeup.
My Frozen 2 Red Carpet Experience Hair and Makeup
My hair is a disaster. And no matter how many makeup tutorials I get at the MAC counter at the mall, I can never get my makeup right. But even though I’m in a household surrounded by guys, I still like to glam it up on occasion. And what better excuse than walking the red carpet at the Frozen 2 premiere?! As a result, I decided to leave my hair and makeup to the professionals. I mean, it’s the Frozen 2 World Premiere! If there was ever a time to go big or go home, this was it. I decided to book my hair and makeup through Glamsquad. I first heard about the Glamsquad through one of the blogs that I read. When I read that my friend Patty from My No-Guilt Life also used Glamsquad for the Ralph Breaks the Internet Red Carpet Premiere, I decided to go for it. The whole process was incredibly easy and convenient. I booked my hair and makeup via the Glamsquad app about a week prior to the event. And I didn’t even have to leave my hotel room to get my hair and makeup done. My hairstylist, Ivonne H, and my makeup artist, Sooyon K, arrived to my hotel room at the scheduled date and time and they both did a fantastic job! I wouldn’t hesitate to use Glamsquad in the future. If you ever decide to book through Glamsquad, you can receive $25 off your order if you use this referral link (and I’ll also receive $25 off a future order at no additional charge to you).
Walking the Red Carpet for the Frozen 2 World Premiere
The Frozen 2 World Premiere was held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, which is also where the Academy Awards are held every year. We ubered in groups to the premiere and were dropped off about a block away since the area was roped off. The excitement was building as we approached the red carpet. I was excited to see the red carpet……which really was red! We traveled in pairs so that we had someone to help us with photos. My red carpet buddy was my friend Karen from Desert Chica. We stopped and posed for pictures on the red carpet and the fall theme with leaves was absolutely beautiful. There were Frozen themed decorations everywhere, like a Troll statue.
On the other side was another red carpet for those involved in Frozen 2. There, the actors and actresses were interviewed and posed with pictures with some of the characters.
As for the question of who wore it best? It turns out that we all did!
Once we walked inside Dolby Theater, our phones were locked up, and we were able to get a bucket of popcorn and water for the movie. Before the movie began, the cast was introduced on stage and they were met with a large round of applause from the audience!
The Frozen 2 After Party
Not only were we able to walk the red carpet for the Frozen 2 premiere, but we were also able to attend the after party, which was located in a nearby ballroom. Do you want to know what type of food was served? Or the activities and photo opportunities that were available? Or which celebrities were in attendance? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
Frozen 2 After Party Food
Disney knows how to throw a party – the food was catered by Wolfgang Puck, but there was also a station set up outside with Happy Meals with Frozen 2 toys from McDonald’s! Besides the Happy Meals, the food ranged from chopped kale to hot dogs and mac and cheese. Not to mention the table with Frozen inspired desserts, like Olaf cupcakes and cookies in the shape of snowflakes. If this isn’t the perfect menu, then I don’t know what is!
Frozen 2 After Party Activities and Photo Opportunities
And because it’s a Disney party, there were several fun activities available that guests could participate in, such as charades where we could win prizes like a Frozen character from Build-A-Bear, build your own snowman with Legos, and a ColourPop makeup station where we received lip gloss from its Frozen collection. There were also several photo opportunities available, from a large sled to character meet and greets with Frozen characters Olaf, Anna and Elsa. And that doesn’t even include all the fun photo backdrops with Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff in the background! I love party planning, and these would all be great ideas to plan a Frozen themed party of your own.
Celebrities at the Frozen 2 After Party
There were several Disney executives present at the after party as well as the actors and actresses who voiced the characters. For example, I saw Idina Menzel (Elsa), Alfred Molina (King Agnarr), Josh Gad (Olaf), Jonathon Groff (Kristoff), Sterling Brown (Lt. Mattias), Jeremy Sisto (King Runeard), Martha Plimpton (Yelana), and Jason Ritter (Ryder) during the after party. I felt a bit awkward asking them to take photo with them, but I was able to get a photo with Josh Gad.
I still can’t believe I actually walked a red carpet for a movie premiere. Dreams really do come true!
