Q & A With the The Woman in the Window Cast & Director
In the movie, Dr. Anna Fox (Amy Adams), an agoraphobic psychologist, suspects her neighbor of murder. But, there are several twists and turns throughout the storyline. I love psychological thrillers so I was over the moon when I received an invitation to participate in a virtual Q & A with Amy Adams as well as some of the other cast members including Anthony Mackie as Ed Fox (Anna’s estranged husband), Fred Hechinger as Ethan Russell and Julianne Moore as Jane Russell (Anna’s neighbors), and Wyatt Russell as David Winters (Anna’s tenant). Not to mention Joe Wright, the director of the movie! Here’s what I learned from the Q & A.
- Joe Wright is known for directing period pieced like Pride and Prejudice (another favorite of mine). During the Q & A. he said that he was drawn to the script because he’s fascinated with the idea that we are all creating our own reality to some extent.
- Amy Adams is a fan of psychological thrillers, especially those from the 1950s and 1960s. As a result, she was excited to work with Joe Wright on this movie.
- Joe Wright said the entire film basically takes place in one house (Anna’s). He said that it took approximately three months to film the movie and Fred Hechinger said that the cast rehearsed for about a month before filming even began.
- Marvel fans will recognize Anthony Mackie and Wyatt Russell in the movie! However, their characters never appear on screen together, which means they didn’t film any of their scenes together. Anthony Mackie said that he was surprised when Wyatt Russell told him they are in a movie together. That’s because Anthony Mackie only filmed scenes with Amy Adams.
- The biggest question that fans of the book are probably wondering: Will they be pleased with the movie? Julianne Moore hopes so! I read the book when it was first published and I know that I definitely can’t wait to see the movie.
