My family and I enjoy taking day trips to Phoenix. Usually our day trips involve visits to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona and SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium. I wrote about our first visit to the Discovery Center here but I decided to also include five reasons to visit SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium! I’ve also included a giveaway for tickets to both LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona and SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium so two of my readers can experience it for themselves with their families!
5 Reasons to Visit SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium
1. Location
The location of the SEA LIFE Aquarium is ideal for those living in the Phoenix area as well as for those of us that are visiting from Tucson. It’s added bonus that it’s adjacent to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona. They are both located in the Arizona Mills Mall, which is right off the freeway in Tempe.
You can’t miss the building for either places. The building for the Discovery Center is painted in yellow, and the building for the Aquarium is painted in blue. My son really enjoys the LEGO fountain out front.

2. Fun, But Also Educational and Interactive
The Aquarium is not only fun and interactive, but also very educational. I also like that the Aquarium isn’t overwhelming for younger children – it’s long enough for them to enjoy, but also not too long to where they’ll lose interest.
One of the interactive areas my son enjoys is the touch tank. This is one of the highlights of our visit.
3. Variety of Sea Life
There are also several fish tanks throughout the Aquarium, filled with a variety of fish, including coral sharks. Our favorite is the tunnel that makes us feel like we are walking in an aquarium. There are fish below, fish above, and fish to the sides, including turtles.
4. Fun Photo Opportunities
SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium have photographers present who will take fun photos of you and your family for an additional charge. We don’t purchase the photos every time we visit, although we do on occasion because of the special effects added to the photos.

There are also photo opportunities available if you don’t want to purchase the SEA LIFE photos. My son loves hamming it up for the camera.
5. Special Events
Similar to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona, SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium also has special themed events for certain holidays like Halloween. Our favorite is the underwater pumpkin carving contest. These events are included in the general price of admission, so it’s a fun way to check out new events without paying extra.

Our fave LEGO movie is The Lego Movie (fun music too)! But we really enjoyed the new Ninjago movie, too!
I was really surprised we all loved the Lego Ninjago movie because I had heard it wasn’t that good…but it was our fave so far!
We went once to Sea Life and my kids loved the touching tide pool and filling out their books…and meeting the Octonauts who were there for a special event!!!
